A2 Cities Discussion Questions for Late Teens (16-18)
Sixteen- to eighteen-year-olds have strong opinions about where they live and where they want to live. At A2, they cannot express the complexity of those opinions, but they can answer direct questions about their town or city: 'What is the best thing about where you live?' 'Do you prefer big cities or small towns?' 'What is missing from your area?' These questions meet A2 teens where they are linguistically while tapping into the genuine place-based identity that teenagers are actively developing.
The vocabulary gives A2 teens the basic urban words they need: 'centre,' 'suburb,' 'traffic,' 'public transport,' 'market,' and 'neighbourhood.' These are high-frequency words that appear in everyday life. Learning them through discussion about places teens actually know makes them immediately useful.

Binary choices give A2 speakers a clear structure and require only a preference plus a reason, which is achievable at elementary level.
