Thirteen- to fifteen-year-olds spend most of their waking hours in school, which means education is the topic they know most about. These 50 questions invite early teens to share that expertise in A2 English: 'What is your favourite lesson?' 'Do you like your school?' 'Would you change anything about your timetable?' Each question draws on daily experience, removing the common barrier of not knowing what to say. Every 13-year-old has opinions about school.
The vocabulary covers the school-related words A2 teens use every day: 'timetable,' 'break time,' 'homework,' 'uniform,' 'detention,' and 'assembly.' These words describe the world teens inhabit for six to eight hours daily. Practising them in English discussion makes the vocabulary immediately available for real use.
School expertise in simple English
A2 early teens discussing education respond best to questions about fairness and choice. 'Is it fair that you have to wear a uniform?' generates more speech than 'Describe your uniform' because it invites an opinion with a reason. Even at A2, opinions produce more language than descriptions.
